ASRM Partners with Vot-ER to Drive Nonpartisan Civic Engagement in Healthcare Field

ASRM-Voter.pngJuly 9, 2024
For Immediate Release

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) is pleased to announce our partnership with Vot-ER, a grassroots organization dedicated to driving civic engagement among healthcare professionals.

IVF and reproductive rights are on the ballot this year, and it is more important than ever that voices from the healthcare field are heard. Civic engagement, particularly through voting, is one of the greatest influencers of public policy. In 2022, the American Medical Association (AMA) passed a resolution naming voting as a social determinant of health.

Compared to individuals in other fields, healthcare workers register to vote and show up to the polls at lower rates. Along with our friends at Vot-ER, we are hoping to change that.

Make sure to check that your own voter registration is up to date!

Now that you’ve checked your own voter registration, will you take two minutes to order a free Vot-ER badge here to help patients and colleagues get ready to do their civic duty too?

These badges feature a QR code that allows a potential voter to quickly and easily register to vote in their district. Wear it around your neck or clip it onto your existing ID and encourage civic engagement on the go!

Once you receive your free Vot-ER badge in the mail, we welcome you to share a picture of you in it on Instagram and tag us in it @ASRM_org for resharing.

Additional options for spreading the word include adding this same Vot-ER QR code to your email signature and uploading it to your website. If you are interested in either of these options, please send a request to publicaffairs@asrm.org.

Stay tuned for future updates on our partnership with Vot-ER, including initiatives on National Patient Advocacy Day on August 19 and National Voter Registration Day on September 17.

For almost a century, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) has been the global leader in multidisciplinary reproductive medicine research, ethical practice, and education. ASRM impacts reproductive care and science worldwide by creating funding opportunities for advancing reproduction research and discovery, by providing evidence-based education and public health information, and by advocating for reproductive health care professionals and the patients they serve. With members in more than 100 countries, the Society is headquartered in Washington, DC, with additional operations in Birmingham, AL. www.asrm.org
